Top Trails Plans Weekend of Fun
TALLADEGA, Ala. – Top Trails Outdoor Park, the premier, off-road and outdoor recreation destination in the Southeast, has planned a weekend of fun for April 28 and 29.
The weekend of activities starts Friday, April 28, with the Grand Opening of the park’s new Campground. Then, Saturday, April 29, Top Trails will host its first Spring Mud Jam.
“We are inviting people from our local communities to come check us out and see what all we’ve been able to accomplish,” said Wes Pope, Top Trails park director. “As a public facility, Top Trails qualifies for funding through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). We were able to combine $1 million in ADECA grants to build our new campground.”
Friday’s activities start at 11 a.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to look at the new campground and welcome center and talk with the Top Trails board of directors and park director.
“We plan to serve lunch about 11:30 a.m.,” Pope said. “After lunch we’ll recognize our local officials and dignitaries, talk about how well our park is doing and reveal some plans for the future.”
After lunch, those visitors who have the time are encouraged to stay around for guided tours.
The fun continues Saturday with Top Trails hosting its first Spring Mud Jam! This fun-filled day offers something for everybody.
“We are really excited about our Spring Mud Jam,” Pope said. “This will be our first time hosting an event of this kind. We have dealers from throughout the area bringing in the industry’s latest rides. Accessory vendors will be on hand to sell their products. We are planning a side-by-side and ATV show for riders to show off their tricked-out machines, and we have two fantastic local bands who will be playing until after sun goes down.”
While Friday’s Grand Opening is free of charge, Admission to Saturday’s activities is included in the cost of admission to the park. Fees to enter Top Trails are: $10 for adults; $5 for children ages 7 to 11, and $5 for each off-highway machine. Additional fees may be charged if attendees plan to enter the side-by-side and ATV show. For additional information, please call the park at 256-649-0245.
